We are looking for a Computational Behavioural Scientist to join our 2 year old, rapidly growing, psychological AI startup to build B2B analytics and data products that tackle complex questions about human behaviour. In doing so, our products address some of the most challenging issues of our time. You will be working within our Research and Development Team, collaborating closely with the Product Engineering Team.

We are an early-stage startup looking for a Computational Behavioural Scientist to enhance our Boon Platform through designing and developing cutting-edge models to understand human behaviour.

Specifically, we are focused on combining psychological theory with cutting-edge data science and behavioural science techniques in order to answer complex questions about human behaviour. We work with non-profits, municipalities, strategy consultancies, and media companies to solve business and societal challenges. Once You Are Here, You Will:

• Integrate psychological theory and behavioural science research methodologies to design and validate cutting-edge psychometric models, focusing on the detection of traits such as personality and motivational needs through language
• Design experimental approaches to psychometrically validate models
• Collaborate with the team to employ natural language processing techniques to identify, test, and iterate upon the linguistic patterns predictive of psychometric traits
• Design and build models to understand social psychological processes such as influence
• Identify and leverage diverse datasets, including naturally occurring online text from social media, blogs, and forums; experimental data; qualitative insights; and, survey responses
• Synthesise and apply understanding of existing behavioural science paradigms and methodologies, keeping up to date with cutting-edge research in this area
• Present and communicate your findings to a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Document your research and results meticulously, identifying new areas for learning and future experimentation.
• Continuously innovate on previous analyses with fresh techniques and diverse data sources, ensuring ongoing technical growth and improvement.

Relevant Experience & Mindset:

• 2+ years of experience as a Computational Behavioural Scientist

• Master's or PhD degree in Psychology, Behavioural Science, or a related field.

• Advanced knowledge of social psychology, psychometrics, or behavioural science

• Proficiency in Python; working knowledge of R

• Strong understanding of statistical methods (e.g., factor analysis), psychometric modelling (e.g. item response theory), and predictive modelling (e.g. regression modelling)

• Strong ability to tell the story of your analysis through engaging visuals

• Team player with a proactive and resilient mindset

• Passion for social good
